Plant Description

Dark green, ribbed leaves often tinged with purple have a strong minty flavour and aroma with just a hint of chocolate as well. Produces spikes of pale purple flowers.

Cultivation

Plant in full sun to part shade in average, well drained soil. Grows 8″-12″ in height and flowers in early summer. As with all mint this plant can be very invasive.

How to Harvest

Pinch leaves as needed. Frequent harvesting of leaves will keep the plant bushy and productive.

Uses

Add leaves to tea, iced tea, chocolate milk, breads, desserts, and salads. Also pairs nicely with spicy dishes.
